A court of Inquiry is a vehicle that allows the Crown a way to gather facts
and opinions on an issue in a somewhat more formal setting. It is the
lesser of the two types of Courts in Ansteorra. Its structure and makeup
is determined by the Crown, usually to gather information on some subject
or issue. It usually will involve a panel of SCA members appointed by the
Crown that will listen to the information and then make a recommendation to
the Crown. It can be held in public or in private depending on what the
matters under consideration are and how sensitive they are.
