There are other ramifications to taking credit card payments at gate, such
as the security of the computer being used, as well as the implication that
the service is provided by/guaranteed by the SCA. Proving that someone's
card information was not hi-jacked via the use of that computer and who is
liable for the damages is not something I'd think the SCA would want to be
responsible for. This is one of the reasons that ACCEPS has not advocated
for being used as a point of sale system at gate for any event.
