Pooky is right we need to give our hopefuls more to do. Unless you have some experience or know someone from the group sometime it is hard to know that Wolf star is having an "open" halfa or the Caldal is having a late night bardic. Or the smiths are having an open  forge. Or there will be dancing after court on the green. We need "public activities  that are open to everyone and you don't have to a friend of someone to come in. I have seen too many "Hopefuls" stand around even a tavern and not know if it is OK for them to come in. As a tavern keeper I have gone around my tavern inviting people more than once. 
It is also hard to find things when the directions are "go to the House of the Black Stag" and turn left.  We need list of non-official and official activities at the gate with statements clearly inviting everyone so they know it is OK to go to the activity and be need to have landmarks you can see in the dark.
