[Ansteorra] Question about accuracy of something I saw on "the Tudors"

In episode 2 they built a "castle" from wooden stick framing and painted canvas. Looked incredible. If this is something that was really done at that time I would like to replicate this technique on some buildings on an event site.

Any info would be appreciated.
