The deadline for submitting bids to host Laurel's Prize Tourney has been extended to May 31, 2008. LPT is a day event. This is one of the easiest Kingdom event to steward and provides a great opportunity for groups of any size to host.

Requirements are:

1) a hall capable of handling displays. (I've seen LPTs in as small an area as 50' X 90' but it was crowded);
2) a room for bardic and performance;
3) a room for the Laurels;

It has been customary to offer a sideboard luncheon (can be part of the site fee) rather than feast.
Some LPTs have also offered an area for fighters to practice or do pick-ups.

Laurel's Prize Tourney is a body of work display or a display of a single art showing
improvements and variations over time. Sometime, individual Laurels host mini-competitions in a particular arts area. However,
this is not the main purpose for the event.

The items displayed at Laurels Prize are not actually "judged." Rather, LPT provides an opportunity for Laurels and artisans to dialog. It is, however, recommended that artisans provide some documentation with
their display for commentary on that aspect of presentation may also be helpful.

Baron Ihon Vinson macFergus, OL
Acting Kingdom Minister of Arts & Sciences

Kingdom Law
Article V
Section 2 : Reoccurring Kingdom Events
