                          TOURNEE DE LYONESSE

The Lady Lyonesse invites one and all to visit the mythical land of
Lyonesse for a Grand Tournament on March 3-5, A.S. XXIX, 1995. There
will be various combative segments, similar to those at the previous
Tournee de Lyonesse. Once again, all combatants for the championship of
the Tournee de Lyonesse (male or female) must be sponsored by a lady.

All who would compete in the Tournee must send a letter of intent to The
Lady Lyonesse to be considered for the title of Champion of Lyonesse.
The letters must be received on or before February 27, 1995, and should
include the name of the combatant and the name and rank of the lady
granting sponsorship. Please also note the combatant's return address,
as well as the lady's return address (if different), so that event
newsletters can be sent.

All who attend are invited to bring and display their arms around the
list field. Fighters are encouraged to display their arms next to the
pavilion of the Lady of the field upon which they are fighting.

An arts display will be held at the Tournee. A letter of intent from
those wishing to display their work is requested. Displayed works should
reflect the Beasts of the Fields: Stag, Hawk, Bear, Dragon and Lion.
Brief documentation is encouraged. Honor, word fame and gifts shall be
showered upon the creators of wonders.

Lady Lyonesse welcomes merchants, but requests that only period wares be
displayed. Archery and children's activities will be available for those
wishing to participate. Lady Diorbhail ni Ruaidhri will present a feast
on Saturday night. Menu will include: Venison Stew, Bread & Herb
Butters, Cold Meat (brisket), Boiled Red Cabbage, Spiced Cake with Hot
Fruit Compote. (Ingredients will be posted at the kitchen.)

The site is Whitewater Sports Campgrounds, near New Braunfels, Texas
(see map). The site has running water, showers and flush toilets.
Porta-cans will be provided in the camp area. There are several stores
nearby, including a small one on site. Pets must be on a leash. Ground
fires allowed in existing fire rings only. If you have a fire, you must
have a fire extinguisher.

The site fee is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Families
will pay no more than $30 site fee. The feast fee is $4. Make checks
payable to SCA, Inc/Barony of Bjornsborg.

The Longship Project will serve an omelet breakfast on Sunday morning.
The omelets are $3. The entertainment by the cooks and scullery wenches
is free.

Placement of the pavilions in the list field area will be at the
discretion of the Autocrat.

More information concerning combat segments and other activities will be
available in the next issue of the Black Star and in the event booklet.
