For those of you getting your knickers in a twist about my "ban the beach
thingies" comment:

a)  although it's true I don't like them, the comment was made in jest
because I know many will have neither the time nor the inclination to
replace them with something more period (I leave money out, because
something period would actually end up cheaper) and have a perfect right to
use whatever they want to keep the sun off their heads.

b)  We *were* talking about the "ideal event," and at that ideal event,
*nothing* mundane would be in sight, yah?
