***Excellent Period Scots Heraldry Books for Dirt Cheap!***
***Order by November 15 and save money and effort!***

The _Heraldry Society of Scotland_ has issued a photographic (full-color)
facsimile of the _Scots Roll_, a 15th c. Roll of Arms. It is edited by
Colin Campbell, who also does some analysis on the roll. The book has over
100 seperate coats, which (given marshalling) breaks out into over 200 base
coats.

David of Moffat will put in an order for these books at $13.00 U.S. apiece
if he gets enough interest to make it worthwhile (he needs a few more
orders yet.) If he receives enough orders (he needs 5 more) by NOVEMBER 15
he will order the books; otherwise he will return people's checks and they
will have to order from Europe in Pounds Sterling (information below).

It is very difficult to find photographic copies of entire rolls of arms
(which give a person a very good feel for period heraldry that cannot be
obtained by reading Fox-Davies and similar books) and $13.00 is an almost
unprecedentedly low price. The book is only available in Pounds Sterling
(6.50 pounds), and at the current rate of exchange and standard bank fees
for foreign currency money orders, the book would cost more like $17.50 if
you ordered a single copy from Scotland.

People wishing to take advantage of David's offer should make checks out to
David Hunter of Montlaw and send them to: David Hunter of Montlaw, 716 E.
Dennis #96, Tumwater WA 98501. Indicate on the check that it is for the
'Scots Roll'. People who wish to phone him (so as to arrange for Canadian
funds) may contact him at (360) 943-1021 (before 9:30 p.m. please.) He
does not have an email address, sorry.

People wishing to order the _Scots Roll_ straight from the Heraldry Society
of Scotland should obtain a Pounds Sterling money order for 6.50 pounds
sterling made to the Heraldry Society of Scotland, and send it to Dr.
Patrick Barden, Birkfield, Rumbling Bridge, Kinross KY13 7PT Great Britain.

Heralds who wonder what is meant by "Period Style": buy this pamphlet and
find out what it means for 15th c. Scotland! (It also gives good insight
into 16th c. Scots heraldry, and many of the coats date back to the 12th or
13th c.)
