                            A GRAND TOURNAMENT

                    BRYN GWLAD'S BARONIAL CHAMPIONSHIP

                             SEPTEMBER 29 & 30

Fighting, feasting, games, and exciting trials of wit and wisdom are
the order of the day on the grand estate of Baron Jeremy James Scurlock
and Baroness Kassandra Nickraken.
 
For heavy fighters there will be a grand passage of arms tournament in
four segments to select a member of the Order of the Halberdiers.  From
within the Barony a fighter will be chosen as Baronial Champion.  Armor
inspection at 9am.

For Rapier fighters the challenge is great.  There will be a tournament
judged on the style of di Grassi.  For this there will be many winners
and lots of spiffy prizes.  (For more information on the rapier

Other activities include games, a solarium ,children's activities and
the most bardic hosted at the most fabulous bardic tree.  Sadly, due to
site restrictions there will be no archery.

Feast will be prepared by Baroness Clarissa consisting of onion soup,
bread and butters, skewered beef with sauces, savory toasted cheese,
chicken pastries, honeyed carrots, and a sampling of desserts.  Feast
will be served for 100 people so please make reservations by Sept 9.
Please bring tables and chairs. Vegetarians or those who have dietary
restrictions please call.  An ingredients list will be posted on site.

The site opens 5:00pm Friday.  It is a beautiful, primitive site on Lake
Travis. 

Most of the campsites are lakeside so parents be prepared to watch
children closely.  Fires are allowed in fire rings only.  Please bring
drinking water. Period containers only.  No glass bottles.  Pets
allowed under owners control. Merchants and taverns are welcome but
please call the Autocrat.
  
Site fee: $7.00     Feast fee: $5.00   (adult)
site fee: $3.00     Feast fee: $3.00   (child 6-12 yrs.)
Children 5 and under are guests of the Barony.
No nuclear family will pay more than $36.00.

Directions: From Austin take State Highway 71 West towards Spicewood.
  Turn right on Haynie Flats Road which becomes Burnet County road 404
  for about 4.5 miles.  Turn right onto Burnet County road 414 and go
  about 1.5 miles.  Turn right directly before the entrance to Ridge
  Harbor subdivision.  The pavement will end after about a mile.
  Continue on the gravel road to Muleshoe Resource Area.
