The award I have that I think is the coolest is the Order of Jerome from
Meridies.  It's my favorite for several reasons:  1.  No meetings involved;
2. I was the first non-Laurel (at the time) to ever receive one; and 3.
 Membership in the order is not permanent.  It is an order to recognize
outstanding contributions to historical studies that carries no precendence
because "learning is its own reward," and, unless you teach three classes or
publish two papers in specified publications every year, you don't stay in.
 This order was founded by the Meridian Crown in an attempt to combat the
"get an award and vanish" syndrome.  I wonder what things would be like if
some of the other orders had similar requirements?
