WRONG MOTEL PHONE NUMBER-rapier event

   It just came to our attention that we had the wrong number listed for the
motel for the Meridies rapier academy. Please disregard previous messages!
The correct number is below.
   The Meridies Rapier Academy has been rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 24.
The new site is New City Fellowship Church, 2424 E. 3rd St., Chattanooga TN
(423-629-1421) Site will open at 8:30 a.m. EST, with classes starting at
10:00 a.m. If you are not authorized in rapier in any kingdom, you MUST take
the "Anatomy and Blows Calling" class at 10:00. The Meridies kingdom rapier
marshal will be conducting marshalling classes and authorizations, as well as
fighter authorizations. Classes will be offered on all fighting styles now
legal in Meridies. Don Tivar Moondragon, Society rapier marshal, and Baron
AElfred of Chester, Middle rapier marshal, will be among our teachers. Last
class will end at 6 p.m.
   Price: Members - $10 with lunch, $9 without lunch; $12 with lunch and pot
luck feast. There is no fast food nearby. If you are planning to attend the
pot luck feast, please bring dishes with heating instructions clearly marked
on them. The shire will provide the meat. We suggest bringing salads,
desserts or other foods that do not require heating. Feast attendance limited
to 75.
   SITE IS ABSOLUTELY DRY.
   Directions: Take your best route to I-24 outside Chattanooga. Take the
Hwy. 27 (Downtown Chattanooga) exit. (This is tricky coming from the west. Be
sure you take the correct exit.) Take exit 1C - 4th St. (the Tennessee
Aquarium exit) Do NOT turn off this road! It will turn into 3rd St. The
church is 3 miles from Hwy. 27. Go through downtown, up the hill. You will
pass UTC arena, then the road doglegs to the left. Keep going past the
hospital, over the viaduct, past some other churches, and a Pruett's grocery
store. After the road curves to the right, look for a large church with white
columns on the right. It will be New City Fellowship.

   As you may have noticed, the event will now be a one-day event. Our motel
for the event is the Econo Lodge at 3655 Cummings Hwy., Exit 174 on I-24.
(423-821-2233) Rates are $29.95/night for 1-3 persons, $33.95/night for 4.
You must mention the SCA when you reserve in order to get these rates. They
have an indoor heated pool. Checkout time is 11 a.m. Maps to the site will be
available at the motel.
   I will post a schedule as soon as we get it finalized. Again, if you are
unable to come and need a refund, please contact me. All other refunds will
be made on site at the event. All Meridian seneschals will receive a postcard
with this information. Be sure your seneschal gets out the word.
