This public service announcement is brought to you by the 
Make-Squire's & Cadet's-Invitational IX (1996)-A-Successful-Event 
Organization.

The Barony of Stargate extends to you a special rain-proof invitation 
to

1996 Squire's & Cadet's Invitational IX 
March 22-24, 1996

Place:	Grimes County Fairground, east of Navasota, TX
Hours:	3 pm Friday, March 22 until noon Sunday, March 24
Site Fee:	$7.50 Adults (Non-members please add $3.00),
	Under 15 - $3.00, Under 6 - Free.
                (Max. $20.00/family site fee).
Feast Fee:	$5.50 (Children Under 6 - Free)
As per Kingdom Law, Minors (0-17) MUST have parent or  	
		guardian with notarized authorization papers.

Unto all those who are not yet a Knight or Don/Doqa, you are 
cordially invited to join the White Belts & White Scarves who will be 
gathering from all over Ansteorra to watch which of You will win the 
titles of Best Overall Chivalric Entrant and Best Overall Rapier 
Entrant. Those interested in competing for the titles must join in on 
each of the following activities:

Swiss 5, Single bout List, coordinated by Don Tivar & Sir 
Patrick-Michael
     (Round 1: Fight the Don/Knight, Round 2: Single, Rounds 3-5:     
 Best Combo)
Double Elim., Single bout List, coordinated by Sir Kein & Don Miguel  
Arts & Science Comp., coordinated by Don Aubrey, Doqa Leah, & Sir 
     al-Mahdi
Bardic Comp., coordinated by Sirs Kief & Pendaran and Dons Laven 
      & Jeremy
Obstacle Course, coordinated by Sir Rhodri & Don David Gallowglass 
Dance Competition, coordinated by Sir Willian of Weir & Sir Cai
Written test of Heraldry & Courtly Graces, coordinated by Don Alden

There will be a cache of prizes for the Individual Winners of each of 
the above activities.  The point system for selecting the Overall 
winners from amongst the Chivalric and Rapier entrants will be: 4 
points to the winner of each bout, for each of the two lists; providing 
a maximum total of over 50 points.  Each entrant also receives 1 to 
10 points for competing in the Heraldry, Obstacle course, A&S, 
Bardic, and Dance competitions.

Armor inspection opens at 8am & the Swiss 5 lists starts at 9am.  The 
A&S, Dance, Bardic, and Heraldry competitions will be open to all, 
including non-combatants.  A&S will take the form of a judged Display 
Competition (opens at 9am, closes at noon), brief documentation 

suggested.  So start preparing your best single entry soon.  Enter 
anything, it is the effort which counts.    

This year's dance will be Heart's Ease and will be taught multiple 
times during the day, contact your local dance guild if you need help. 
The actual competition runs 4-6pm.   Bardic category & theme is 
open.  Bardic, Obsticle course, Dance, & Heraldry open after the 
Swiss 5 list ends.  The Kingdom Hospitaler and Chiurgeon will each 
be holding classes/meetings.  They each ask all Regional & Branch 
Hospitalers to attend. 

The site is the centrally located Grimes County Fairground with a 
hugE, rain-proof covered arena, an indoor feast hall, permanent 
pavilions, portable showers, and plenty of camping space.  The site 
is wet and Merchants are very welcome.  The sumptuous feast will 
consist of fresh fruits, breads & butters, brisket & turkey, pasta & 
potato salads, green vegetables, and delicious dessert.  Feast limited 
to 150.  For feast reservations or dietary information, please call the

This event is for ANY and ALL Students of Rapier or Chivalry.  Come 
show the Dons/Doqa and Knights of Ansteorra of what you are 
made.

>From Hwy 6, travel 2 miles east on FM 90.  Before you reach the 
Navasota Livestock Auction Barn turn left (north) on FM 3455 and 
go 1 mile. Site is on your left (W. side)
