No. No. No..... Kein--- Tower.... RHIAN --- chili.

Got it?

Seriously. I'm going to try to put together a tower in the center of
our camp for the express purpose of flying a banner higher than anyone
else. If anyone is a skilled painter, your services would be greatly
appreciated on the first Saturday and Sunday of the war. Does anyone
have 30 feet of scaffolding laying around collecting dust?

Also, Rhian has graciously agreed to pick up a tradition that I
started, but have grown tired of. (I've done it for 7 years.) She said
that she would spearhead the Ansteorran chili, and I'm sure she can use
some help.

Listen. If you're reading this and you're waffling or can't decide
whether or not to go to Pennsic, let me try to persuade you. If you are
a fighter, I don't need to tell you about the battles with 1000
soldiers per side or the days and days of tournaments and pickups.
If you are not a fighter, did you know that you can go to Pennsic for
10 days, stay busy, have fun, and never notice the fighting?
It's true. More merchants than anywhere else. Classes all day and into
the night. Archery. Dancing. Enchanted Ground. Courts. Parties. Bardic
Circles. 9500 SCA'ers within 3 square miles (wear comfortable shoes.)
Did I miss anything?

Did I mention that the high temperature in Pittsburgh, PA today was 78
degrees? 58 was the low. (No guarantees on this. Last year it was
almost as hot as home.)

Still not convinced? ... One more try.... NO FIRE ANTS!

Come on out. It'll be fun.
