As I'm sure you know, there are various schools of thought.  Some people
go for the "Pre 17th century", meaning 1600 or earlier; while others
prefer 1620, 1650, and to just by some of the outfits worn at some events
I've attended, there's a subtle nod to 1700...

OTOH, I know some people would be just as happy to cut it off at 1500.

My personal preference is the execution of Charles, as the solid cut off date
for the end of the "Middle Ages"...
