Greetings all,

(Now that my mail server is *finally* working....)

Does anyone know how the Baronial Selection in Bonwicke has turned out? Did
I miss something while I was gone? Inquiring minds want to know.....

By the way, Congratulations to HL Modius. At Laurel's Prize Tournament,
which we were fortunate to have hosted, he was asked to join the Order of
the White Scarves and agreed to do so at Stargate Yule revel. He also had a
killer display of an original piece of music written in lute tablature,
fruit strudels, brewing, etc.

It was a joy to be in attendence at Laurel's Prize Tournament. There were
so many things there to look at and so many talented people there to talk
to, that the day just seemed to slip by quickly. There were so many *neat*
things. There was a lady with tablet weaving that was done with a curve to
go around the neck of her husband's tunic. There was nalbinding and bone
needles. Costuming from Byzantium (my husband claimed the Byzantines were
taking over) to Norse, to Elizabethan. The documentation ranged from
in-depth dissertations to simple cards that explained what the piece was.

After court there was a Laurel's meeting. During this time, musicians from
Elfsea played and sang for the dancers in attendence. It was a lovely time.

>From a displaying artist' viewpoint, it meant a lot to me that many people
stopped at my display and discussed it with me. It wasn't just the Laurels,
either. It seemed like all the artisans there were genuinely interested in
each others work and learned from each other. I know I came away inspired
and better educated.

It was a lot like going to Crown Tournament and seeing the level of fighting
that was there. It made me proud to be an Ansteorran and happy to see the
amount of support for talent that this Kingdom has. Special thanks go to
Thomas, Clare, Kestrel, Gunnora, Willow, Cedric, Rhiain, and many others who
worked to put this special occasion together.

Also, a special thanks to Stella, Daniel Varble, Jovian, Raymond, and others
who helped with the unloading and reloading for those in attendence.

In Service,

Zara Zina Theanos, Baroness of Elfsea
