        True, but the Crown, Royal Family, Landed Nobility, nor the BoD gets
to censor what we say here either.  It's a free country.  If I slander
anyone, they can sue me.  If I hurt someone's feelings, they can ask me for
redress, or avoid me, or hate my guts. I never said that the list owners
couldn't censor, merely that the folks who are bitching about what I said
behind my back can't censor my opinions, although they are certainly welcome
to talk to me personally to either ask what I meant, or to try to change my
opinion, or simply to tell me that I'm an asshole (guilty as charged).  

        I have strong opinions, and I speak my heart and mind.  I think that
one of the leadership roles of a Peer is to have opinions.  I also think
that it is conduct unbecoming to a Peer, a Noble, a Crown, a Baron/ess, or
any member of the Populace to go around behind someone's back bitching about
them, or worse, running to the Baron/Seneschal/King/BoD and whining about
their "bad behavior."  I have enormous respect for those who, like Kief and
Galen, can stand up and say "Gunnora, you are wrong, and this is why you are
wrong."  I even respect those who come up to me and say, "You're a
fat-headed asshole because..."  I have no respect for cowards who won't
bring their complaints to me directly.

        By the way, good for you, Aodhan, for saying what you thought about
the issue.  I defer to your interpretation and agree that my wording was
wrong, what I meant was this is a mundane forum that discusses SCA topics,
and hence is not under the jurisdiction of the Power Structure of the SCA.
If the List Owner wants me to shut up, he can tell me so or kick me off the
list (although I think he should warn someone that their behavior is
unreasonable before he does so, he can do it without warning, or even
without reason, it's his baby!)  I would also seriously consider a direct
request from the Crown if they wanted me to shut up.  But back-stabbing
innuendo and gossip isn't going to do it at all.
