Service awards are not the only awards one would travel to an event
for. I have heard more than one person told that if they would like
to advance in rank in their 'profession' (be it arts and sciences or
fighting,) then they must travel to other parts of the kingdom and
display their prowness there. This is only natural. The peerage
that would recommend your elevation to a higher status travels
mostly to events in their own kingdom.
