I wouldn't say you were *wrong* ... I would certainly *advise*
checking with the Marshallate before testing anything.  They may be
able to tell you, e.g., "no, you REALLY shouldn't try a morningstar
with a three-pound head" or "we found Baldar Blunts to be OK under
these conditions".  Certainly one must check before doing testing at
an SCA function.
