Not only are they sickeningly sweet:  (1) they have the superioir numbers,
(2) they have no stable commercial interests to protect (the Keeblers have
to keep their ovens going and expend resources to defend same), (3) more of
them seem to be in prime physical shape, and (4) they appear to be
thoroughly woaded up for combat.  

On the other side, the Keeblers have an economic empire and could hire mercs.
