Alternatively, you could say "the Scarves". 

I've also run across the term "the Dons" used by Englishmen referring to
Spaniards. I *think* that was in the 6-part "Elizabeth R" mini-series on
TV, so I don't know if the usage is historically accurate, or just literary
license.
