ANST - largess

The first event I ever entered anything into an Arts & Sciences
competition, I received largess. I had a needlepoint I had done of one of
the Cluney Lady & the Unicorn tapestries (Scent for those that are
interested). I did not win. It was one by a beautiful sword. when I went
up to collect my needlepoint I found a beautiful silver amethyst pin,
pinned to a white card that said largess. Being new to the society, I
asked my daughter Simone what largess meant. I have to admit I
mispronounced it. My daughter smiled at me and said it meant I done good.
It turned out it was a gift from the Laurels who were judging the
competition. It was beautiful and I felt greatly honored and humble. It
also encouraged me to continue pursing my art.
