it's a "wolfie" thang (not a "vampire" thing as some assume
... a case SCAdian "urban legends" leading the mind and
oscurring the obvious)

physical practice was learned through observation in my animals
(hybrids) over the years ... they can "smile" or cut a serious
"grin". in the later case they usually pull the lips back and
expose the canines (hence "grin w/fangs". wolves and hybrids have
very expressive faces and i have always been facenated by
them (they're almost as expressive as evolved primates).

in some situations it is a threat (depending on body posture),
usually it's a greeting used when and animalk is at ease with equals.
sometimes it's just a "punctuation" (no pun intended). i often use
it as a "emoticon" in my electronic messaging. also makes for a
nice, unique "tag".

in real terms, when raising wolves or hybrids, it's critical to
understand and use the facial "language" that they understand by
nature (on a larger scale, relates back to concept of it always
helps to learn the communication modes of the peoples you are dealing
with)

... though few modern cultures still use enhanced facial expression
there are still some (for a good vid' on that and other subjects,
check out _Utu_ - about the Maori uprisings in New Zealand) ...
lot's of excellent facial communication woven into the film.

'wolf

... a "barbarian" in heart and soul, and proud of that fact ... soon
to add some serious "ink" to the matrix
