What I usually seen happen is that a small force of fighers are sent to deal
with the archer unit before the lines engage. At last year's Gulf War a unit
of, I believe, 5 fighters ran down and destroyed a unit of about 20 archers.
Unsupported mass groups of archers don't work within the SCA context.
