Ballista Spears

Thanks to all the folks who have responded to my query for ballista spear
advice!

Based on your input, this weekend I will be experimenting with golf-tube
javelins tipped with a racquetball/tennis ball and tailed with either a
cloth streamer or spiral-mounted foam fins. I'm going to try filling the
golf tube with either newspaper or expanding foam to give it a little more heft.

I welcome any further input and will let you know how the experiment turns out.
