          As one of Siobhan's apprentices, I feel compelled to speak
          on this subject.  I personally, have NEVER been MADE to
          swear fealty.  I am not a peer, so I have never taken an
          oath of any kind in the SCA.  This is not something that has
          been required by either of the two laurels I have been
          apprenticed to, or the Crown I served two reign with.  Since
          I believe swearing an oath of any kind is an extremely
          personal choice, whether in the SCA or Real Life, I don't
          know of anyone qualified to MAKE me swear anything to
          anybody unless it is MY wish to do so.
