Oh, I don't know--I think it would be at least as appropriate as the field
knighting/offer. Just picture it: the crown gathers a retinue of retainers
and a flock of Pelicans and descend upon the kitchen, either squeezing in if
the kitchen is large enough, or calling the candidate out, sweaty faced,
food stained, wet hands and all. I think the joy of being recognized for
what you do right in the middle of doing it carries great charm and appeal,
and would make for a very special experience.

As to "generally Not In A Good Mood," I think that would change in a trice!
