Daniel, I hate to disagree with you but Field Knightings are almost always
a suprise.  When I was knighted there was no warning.  Several members of
Ansteorra's chivalry were not there because they had already down armored
and gone to get cleaned up.  When Master Danial was knighted at pensic the
circle knew but no one else did.  While elevations in the other two orders
are almost always announced, the act of making a member of the Chivalry on
the field is still around.
