Beginning Archery

I know nothing about balder or his blunts, but I have a fellow gentle
who would like to learn the art of archery as done in the SCA. Could
anyone answer a few questions for me? (either on the list or privately,
it matters not to me)
How do you get started? Do you need a fighter's card? What are the
regulation bow and arrows for IKAC, wars, and such?
