Same here, although I am not a "freak the mundanes" type of person anyway.  Most 
responses that I have recieved have been "That's cool."

The only time I have encountered any negativism was several years ago some Born
Again Christians (The only reason I refer to them in that sense was because they
were out distributing their pamphlets) who wanted to know what I thought was so
wrong with real life that I had to escape into fantasy.  They also said that in
the Middle Ages religion was dead.

I realized that there would be no point in arguing or trying to convince these 
people otherwise in that arena so I went back to fighting.
