ANST - If a tree falls in the woods?

I had my man servant prepare my carriage and six, proceeded to the
royal wedding of King Phillip and Elizabeth Volois. The day started with
some soft weather and the journey was easy. The touney to celebrate the
event was all in preparation and looked very challeging. I was not going as
a participant but merely as an on-looker. Because one of the teams was short
a member or two, I and another of my excellent cousin ( Baron Michael
Silverhand) were convinced, through plying on our vanity, to become
participants rather than audience. I am glad I was convinced, for although
the weather was good highland fighting weather, and others complained that
their boots had a slight leak from the mild deluge that was experienced, it
was a most delightful way to idle the day away. Our team was beaten by a
most digusting band of hired mercenaries, I have ever had the misfortune to
cross blades with but thats another story. All in all, a most enjoyable day
was experienced capped by the most delectable and bountiful feast, worthy of
a King and Queen. I must say that I was very proud to see all of the effort
of Loch Solleir pay off to make my experience a most excellent day to be had.
But, I must ask my self, where were all of my friends from with in this
fair Kingdom? Certainly they could not ALL be in Namron? Certainly they
could not ALL be at Bjornsborg, an event that mysteriously appeared on my
appointment calendar, long after my engagement for Tourney in the Loch was
confirmed? Certainly they ALL could not be at a wedding at Ravensfort? And
certainly they could ALL not be at the Renn faire? (That would certainly be a
first) Where were the peers from my own Barony- don't they care anymore?
(Loch joke- How do you get some one you don't like in the Loch, to quit
playing? -answer-make them a peer, ) I had experienced in the past many
enjoyable events both in my Southern region and in the Middle region, none in
the Northern region and only 3 in the West. In my fourteen years in the
Society, I have racked up many miles and dollars in order to visit other
people and events. Perhaps our Kingdom is to big to make it possible to
visit them all ( I am NOT going to open that can of worms).
My point to make is this - many who could have had as good a time as I
had, missed a wonderful event. I thank those who worked so hard to make the
site look wonderful and to the list mistress who did a marvelous job of
keeping the list cards dry ( Just where on you did you keep those list
cards, Rebbecca?) and to those who made my trip home miserable from eating
too much. Thanks to all who voted for my A&S entry, and to Alexis and
Wolfgang for always telling me what I'm doing wrong with my rapier fighting
and catching me up on the local B.S. I had a great time- everyone I talked
to on site had a great time, I just wish a few more of you would have made
the effort to show up and have a great time too!

il dit tout ce qu'il veut,
malheureusement il n'a
rien a' dire.
he says all that he wishes to say,
but unfortunately he has nothing to say.
