My response to Lady Devnet was private, for it contained items of a more
personal/household nature. However, I think I might have a few comments
today that are of a wider interest.

My analogy is of the common workplace. Would anyone like to have someone
walk in to their job and start ordering them around. I seriously doubt
it. Not only would they be upset, their boss would boot the bozo out the
door.

We have all hear the old cliche "Your wish is my command". In the
situation of a king and servant, the servant is indicating that his
respect for the King is such that he would be glad to help him without
needing to be ordered.

Anyone who know Othar knows he is ALSO here for the beer!!

Yes, I will tend to look to a squire to assist with a job and so will
most
>other members of the populace.

I usually use "M'Lord, would you LIKE TO HELP with this?" I find quite a
number are thrilled to be asked!
On the other hand, I am a mercenary. I am in it for the money.By the
way, when do I get my check? <g>
