There are a series of book that are printed by the University of Texas.
The author is Blanche Payne. If you can find these they are as good as or
even better in some areas as Janet Arnolds books. The books are very old.

She took the opportunity of handling the same garments as Ms. Arnold and
reconstructed the garments for individuals and for displays. These books
are normally found only in college books stores when the costuming
teachers order them. That is how I got mine. I even have one that is out
of print, a book of patterns of the garments she took apart and had a
collegue reconstruct for displays. I can give you the book list if you
wish. Just email me.

Absolutly excellent post! I had the same questions but I am a theatrical
costumer and those methodes are unacceptable all around. Except when it
comes to kids clothes, you want those to last for more than one or two
events! :)
