If the banner bearer bobs, the banner bobs as well.  But better banner
bearers do not bob their banners. If the banner's on a butt spike and
the banner bearer bobs, then Bob the banner bearer drags the banner in
the mud.  A muddy banner bearer can have the banner on the butt or bear
the banner on the head without it getting muddy, but a banner bearer
bearing a banner on the butt spike who bobs and drags the banner through
the mud will get knocked on his butt in the mud by Sir Spike.
