Thier portrayal of the SCA is mostly not accurate of Ansteorra,
although there are some things
we could improve. Nevertheless, they made some good points.

I found their comments all too accurate. Our authenticity of
clothing is not too bad, but our authenticity in armor in awful.
There are very few Ansteorrans who strive for authenticity of armor.
There are a few more who make a good attempt at an authentic look,
but do not bother with armor that would have been worn. His comments
about fantasy are especially true in armor, where many designs have
no background in a period design, and when they do, they are badly
executed. Some of this is based on our safety rules, which make many
period designs illegal without modification or addition. Their
"worst-looking SCA fighter ever" is relatively close to many
fighters, both in Ansteorra, and elsewhere. Most SCA fighters that I
know have little or no interest in looking like a medieval knight.
Also, they are also right, that we often think more about the Dream,
than about authenticity, which makes us a joke to real re-enactment
groups. I often find people using the Dream to cover up the fact
that do no research, and do not care about authenticity.
Some of the problems they mention, are not problems, like our attempt
to re-create the romance, rather than the reality of medieval life.
Others are problems that are built into our group, like the 1000
years + that we cover. Other groups have taken a narrower focus, and
that makes their job easier than ours.
I found the viciousness of the attack astounding, but I felt that he
had many points that we need to look at.
