exactly ... i see it the same as a perception / understanding thing
... when sun rises on the first day of year zero, it's the first day
of the existance of something new (irrespective of old calander
systems).  

though, if i really wanted to stay true to period-self, then i 
would have to put the birth of the new year at sunset on that day, 
but let's not further complicate the issue (and lets not even go into
differing interpretations of when the year begins/ends, solar vs
lunar calanders, cultural differences .....
