I had thought about that when I was coming up with elements for my
device(something like "erminois, in a chief azure two scallops or)

But, eventually, I decided that I wanted to go with something that I
could draw or paint myself. And you have to admit that ermine spots
are reletively easy to draw, as well as scallops shells.

Hmmm...this is a good point, but I had thought of cutting a stencil
and painting the dang things on. That way the only sewing done in
the banner is attaching 2/3 black fabric to 1/3 blue for the background.
I have a very lovely and period looking stencil already for the scallops.

And, the likelyhood of dear Anna having to sew or embroider my
device on anything is fairly low. I'm not planning on winning Steppes
Warlord anytime soon.

ta,
Gio.

p.s. Is erminois gold with black spots, or black with gold spots? I've
gotten erminois and pean confused somehow.
