Dieterich, I'll not be specific in linking specific styles to most
of my list. Those whose heraldic style is distinctive enough to
"make the grade" I find to be capable of using several styles AND
usually use several in the course of a given court.

Exceptions: IMNSHO Pendarren & Burke both do "pompous" very, very
well. Both also are fully able to inject humor approrpriately into
the seriousity of the full-blown pompous presentation. Viscountess
Megan is another I also remember with a fine command of "pompous"
style, although at this instant I don't specifically recall ever
seeing her as primary court herald.

Otherwise, for the general discussion, Lucais & Daniel & Alden &
Robin & Crandall & Da'ud most of the others already named in
previous messages I certainly agree with. (Daniel may be tempted to
nay-say my inclusion of his name among this company -- preemptively,
I will say that he generally makes up for any shortcomings HE might
ascribe to his voice with organization and showmanship.)

For use of voice in the court setting, be it as herald or other
officiant, I would add Ulf Gunnarson, Finn Kelly, Duke Michael, and
Duke Inman to the list of well-known Ansteorrans that come to mind.
For general showmanship as well as voice, certainly add Pepin and
Puck One-shoe. (Yes, properly done, fools -- and I was privileged to
see Pepin at his most foolish, before his "retirement" -- are part
of the court heraldry team -- and I've seen both these men do full
justice to [mostly] straight courts.)

(Relatively) lesser-known heralds -- or those who might have been
pressed / cajoled into service who are not always thought of as
heralds these days -- whose vocal presentations I have enjoyed in
court include Katya Iadorovna and Alasdair MacEogan here in Steppes,
the now-far-travelling Galen Nicoli, Rosario di Palermo, Giovani di
Cellini, and others.

For "personal" heralds, esp. in the (relatively limited) role of
announcing an approaching peerage candidate, Llereth, Adelicia, and
Robin have given some of the best examples of the form I've seen.

Some of 'em are kinda scarce anymore, others choose to expend their
efforts in other ways anymore. Still, *ask*. At worst, they can say
no. At best, not only will you learn from / with them, you might
just get them back in the mood for occasional voice heraldry.

And please, please, *please*, let no one take it as an affront that
I did not include them specifically by name in this listing. I've
seen some of the best, I've cringed along with some of the newest as
they underwent their growth experiences in front of a crowd. I've
been fortunate enough to work with many heralds whose names I don't
immediately have at hand, some who I've never known by name, in the
hall, in camp, in court, on the field, and in bookish research.

Ansteorra: as a whole, our heralds are second to none in the Known
Worlde, and several I'd say are easily comparable to some of the
better mundane heraldic officers. It's a good company to be part of.

Thanks for the more-specific question. And a chance to make this
general thread perhaps a bit more productive than the algorithm
fluff...
