What's unchivalrous about it? You think that all the work/labor that the
people of the shire/barony put into the event isn't worth a thing? I
challenge you to find any campground in the USA where you can spend the
weekend and get fed for $15-$20. You'll be lucky to get a parking place
for one night at that price. RIPPED OFF? Bullhocky!!!

Who's not looking for a profit? It would be kind of nice to be able to
have a shire pavilion, a decent set of heraldic references, etc... You
can't do that by breaking even.
