Salut, Cozyns,
Lyonel aisai.
Cougar says:
>I am most happy to make thee (or is it "thine?) acquaintence.
Actually, it's "your" when addressing multiple listeners/readers. Also,
the second person singular is inappropriate for most of the readers on this
list. The second person singular of modern English (yes, Renaissance
English is classified as "Modern") is a familiar form of address, reserved
for children and loved ones.
>Mi lords
>and ladies, I be Cougar!! Hopefully to prove to be a valiant and worthy
>addition to the SCA. I embrace thee as family.
Same problem here, Cougar. You can't embrace a "thee" as a family unless
the "thee" in question is a person with Multiple Personality Disorder.
Sorry to take on the dour role of pedagogue, but he *did* ask.
