ANST - Appearance of Fighters

While everyone is on the subject of armor, can I get a detailed description of what we are all considered to be wearing.
Is it what a Norman knight wore in 1066, or just chain mail type armor from 1066?  What does the helm look like?  Is there a mail covering over the mouth and chin? Is the sleeve elbow or wrist length?
