the question was more metaphorical. one of the primary theme's of celtic culture is
the call of the west, the mysteries over the great wester ocean, the location of their
"blessed lands" of the next life ... their history from the beginning's on the edges of the
indian sub-continent has been a steady migration to the west - those that went before
being driven by those that came later ....

for a time they were blocked, then technology allowed the mass-migrations to continue
(though often not by choice ...). once the ocean was crossed the migrations began
again ... and as before came up against another ocean barrier. this time there is
nowhere to go on the other shore ...

so the question is where is west now?

there are three options as i see them ... inward to the virtual realms (back into the
sidhe's of legend), down into the ocean's (also a literary option in the celtic
consciousness), or up and out (also indirectly supported ... "they (deDanannans)
came in boats from the sky")

pithy subjects designed to delve into and expand upon ... this is the direction of
thosught i was thinking of.
