Well, 

I am still researching an Italian Renaissance court dress and headdress from
around 1530-40.  I pretty much have the dress researched into the ground, but
having trouble finding paintings or other illustrations showing the back of
the particular headdress. So far I have had the best luck with portraits from
Bronzino and Lorenzo Lotto, but no back views..... ;-(     (I am making the
headdress that I can only describe as a fabric snood on steroids, or a large
padded roll-type thing.  Either is appropriate for the dress) 

I have seen a period movie set in this style of dress, and the costumer was
VERY true to the period with his designs.  Now, if I could only get ahold of
his research notes for those designs!..........;-)  (Donato Donelli's costumes
for the extras in "Taming of the Shrew" with Elizabeth Taylor)

I am going to let this one go for a couple of weeks to concentrate on working
on researching and designing some kind of garb for my husband.  He is VERY new
to the SCA, and still researching a persona.  I would still like to get him
more than a generic T-tunic though.  BTW, he successfully cut out his first
tunic with only a minor flub in that the neck opening is a tiny bit too roomy.
But good for a novice sewer!  So, by the time he gets to an under-tunic, he
may have the machine itself mastered...................  (He is interested in
the fancy stitches on my 150-stitch electronic machine, I think he has the
embellishing bug!)

He gets to go to his second event Saturday at Midsummer Fair.  He is very
interested in King's College too.  His older sister is a past SCA-er, and he
caught bits of stories here and there, and is very excited.........  Doesn't
know what exactly he wants to do in the SCA, but he likes: Archery, cooking,
acting, leatherworking, woodworking, and writing.  So, I think he will find
many and varied activities to do in the SCA.

Well, hope to see some of you all at Midsummer Fair on Sat.
