dunno if this helps but my eldest was transporting sword and other weapons ... he got stopped in a tiny rural town in florida where my mom lives.  This is place where the
pacemeakrs are turned off at 8pm and anyone under 65 is stopped for breathing.
Anyway the Kop goes thru his car and trunk.  The weapons including MY antuiq civla ward cavalry sword were in a tote bag that had a padlock on it...the lock is what saved his behind according to the kops.  they claim that makes the weapones [that were in the
backseat, btw]
inaccessable .  will that help...
