You raise an interesting point yourself! *I think* (that's me, myself, and I
and sometimes the mouse in my pocket), we need MORE people
to find what they're passionate about..........maybe that's what we're
lacking. Passion for clothing myself in beautiful things drives me to
work harder on every piece of garb I make. Ok, I'm really just an Elizabethan
clothes-horse, but what's wrong with that?! I love it! The same with the other
things I produce for SCA (and non-SCA) use......I do things I enjoy doing. I do
things I also DON'T enjoy, like work, but that's 'cause I gotta...........

The middle ground is the toughest to walk, and we all stray from the road
from time to time. And as we all know, the road to h-e-double-toothpicks is
paved with good intentions. And those Societal problems which we will
actually acknowledge as problems, usually end up being disputed for years.
But it does help to have your eyes open, I find a good, stout cup of coffee
usually helps.

Again, it's those "perfect" moments that we play for. When they come along,
be it at Grand Court at 25th Year (all of Ansteorra roaring Rowan's name), that
first tourney kill, your first cool court clothes that YOU made yourself......those
are why a lot of us do what we do. They are fleeting, and they are rare, but
they are all the more precious because of that.

Baroness Caterina (waxing poetic again)
PS - We can grow and still party! You just need more beer.
