just back from breakfast and a run-in with a loose pit-bull'ish canine that attacked me 
whilke i was walking in the street (care to guess who won that little contest ...) ... 

downside is that i need my trusty walking stick repaired .. want to replace the now 
split hickory shaft with a nice piece of turned aircraft grade aluminum (black anodized 
a plus ...).  if anyone out there has access to a shop and wants that commission, 
reply via email with a rough quote and we'll talk ...

with the previous talk about uses for bokken and shinai, methinks it may be time to 
replace my carry-bag and invest in one of the diamond-wood variants ... try to walk a 
lot these days and there seems to be a rise in the number of loose, agressive dogs in 
the neighborhood ... not to mention a growing influx of increasingly agressive and 
unstable transients (ok, who let the saxons in ... grin)
