Very well said.

I view some of the stuff that some see as "politics" as diplomacy.  The ability
to put aside personal differences and work for a common goal is a wonderful
thing, whether that goal is something short term, like an event, or more long
term, like the general well being of the barony.

Part of the politics of a group is knowing what potholes to avoid.
Unfortunatly, some of the folks out there have blindly stepped into political
potholes and have been scarred by it.  Myself, I learn from those instances to
walk carefully.

Is that a cynical attitude?  Maybe, but I prefer to see it as a practical
attitude.
