Personally, I find that kind of viewpoint distressing. We, as a
society, speak of honor and integrity, but when asked not to bring
alcohol to a site, some of people decide to sneak it in anyway. Hardly
honorable. Thankfully, from what I have seen, these people are in the
minority.

No, The attitude should be, this is what the owners have asked, so
that is what we will do. Otherwise, do not use that site. And the
autocrat especially. By assuming the position of autocrat, he/she is
putting themself in a position of representing the SCA to the owner of
the site. (And to the mundane police, should an incident occur.)

I agree. I personally do not drink at SCA events, (I rarely drink
outside for that matter.) But I have no problem with wet sites. I will
not let a MINOR thing like whether or not I can bring alcohol deter me
from an event I wish to go to.
I understand that for some, this is NOT a minor thing. Brewers and any
others, this is my opinion only.
