A thought by some one that was not there. Rapier fighters are used to
targeting lower body legs and a barrier would remove that target. It also
would reduce the area that needed to be defended making it harded to "kill"
your oppenet "may be?". The barrier would also "force" the fighters to move
along the barrier as apposed to being able to move around, and "we don't
fight that way".
