A little terminology correction here...siege engineers and combat 
archers are NOT con-combatants.  They are definitely playing an active 
combat role.  They may be non-CONTACT if they choose to so mark their 
helmets.

I know it sounds like trivia but it's one of my mental things.  Archers 
and artillerists are fighters.  They just use non-standard weapons.

Thankfully, he explained later, it actually hit on the inside of his 
thigh.  It just was so close to home it *looked* like a groin shot.  It 
caused more dramatic effect than damage.

And I swear by everything that has ever been held holy by anyone, that 
shot placement was just accident.  Any good gunner always aims for the 
center of mass; that bolt was just a tiny bit heavier than the average.
