ANST - Running a tavern

Aside from the legal aspects of selling alcohol at events, there are
very good reasons not to.
I was involved with running Black Wolf Tavern at Steppes Warlord for
ten years. At first we offered beer, trying to use some of the "gray
area" ways around the law. Unfortunately the law is prety strict
about this issue. If you try selling a token the token must have a
retail value equal to the amount you charge, there for no money to
get the beer.
So then we tried to do it in a voluntery way, a bowl was placed out
for 'donations', we lost our shirts.
Add on to these financial problems the problem of increased liability
on your part for the actions of people who drink your beer (one year
a woman was accosted at our tavern and the police were called. You
can imagine how nervous that made us) and it really becomes a loosing
proposition.
It just wasn't worth it to us.
